TEHRAN – The bodies of 17 Iranian soldiers who had been martyred during Iraq’s war against Iran in 1980s were sent back home from Iraq on Monday through the Shalamcheh border point in the southwestern province of Khuzestan.

Special military units marched in procession carrying the bodies of the martyrs to the Iranian side of the border.
A large number of local people also attended the ceremony held to commemorate the martyrs.
